How to choose a good colon cleansing method?

How to choose a good colon cleansing method?

How much do you know about colon cleansing? I’m sure you’ve heard things about it from time to time, but really, how much do you know? For most people, I’d say it is surprisingly little. They are familiar with the term and maybe the basic concept, but otherwise, they don’t know much about it at all.

To take it even further, most people probably maintain misinformed opinions that they have developed over time whether from conversations, things they have read or even things they have heard on T.V. or radio.

While it would be impossible to enlighten people to the full truth about colon cleansing in this space, hopefully this short piece will begin the learning process. In colon cleansing there are many methods which are utilized to obtain a “cleanse.” This article explores what those options are.

1)      Enemas

You may not realize it, but an enema is a popular tool for colon cleansing. Essentially a small amount of water is inserted through the anus into the rectum to help clear the bowel. This method proves especially effective for people suffering with severe forms of constipation. In those cases, it will often provide instant relief. Unfortunately, enemas also only clean the lower half of your intestines, so they are not an adequate long term solution.

2)      Colon Hydrotherapy

This is probably the most discussed method for colon cleansing and likely the version you are most familiar with. In this method plastic tubing is placed up your anus with warm water gently pumping through to clean out your intestines. This is also commonly called “colonic irrigation.” This method can only be performed by a licensed professional and only cleans out your large intestine.

3)      Laxatives

Much like an enema, laxatives are only good for temporary relief. They can be purchased at any drug store and they soften your stool, making it easier to pass. However, they do not remove impacted fecal matter from your intestines.

4)      Herbal Colon Cleansers

Herbal remedies containing psyllium are also a popular method. Most herbal solutions, much like laxatives, do not remove impacted feces or clean the colon, so they are only effective for temporary relief. The only exception to this rule is Blessed Herbs. This is because unlike most other herbal colon cleansers, Blessed Herbs make use of various herbs that is not commonly found in other solutions. 5)      Oxygen-based Colon Cleansing

This is perhaps the easiest and most effective method for obtaining a true colon cleanse. These are taken orally, just like laxatives or herbal colon cleansers. Unlike those two, these do clean out the intestines and colon, including impacted fecal matter. They are also exceptional for temporary constipation relief, but work to rejuvenate the colon on a long term basis. These help to remove the built-up toxins from within your body and offer far fewer risks than many other methods.

However, unlike herbal colon cleansers, oxgen-based alternatives do not cleanse toxins that built up in other parts of the body, such as your blood, fats and intestines. Although it’s absolutely crucial that you cleanse your colon (it is often argued as the source of all toxins), it’s also obvious that cleansing other parts of your body will yield much better results.

As you can tell, there are many methods for both long-term and short-term colon cleansing that may be beneficial to you. Each method will vary in terms of costs and risks, but the process may not be as complicated or difficult as you first imagined. Before electing any option, be sure to consult a physician.
